Things you may want to know about Le Piracante (and why it matters)
When looking for a place to stay in Caiazzo, you can choose among different types of accommodation and different areas of the territory.
Le Piracante is a slightly different choice, and I’ll explain why.
Ours is a true guest home, within a private residence: a Bed & Breakfast in the most authentic sense of the term, not a rental place presented as a B&B.
My husband and I live here, together with our animals, in a small countryside property where, on the ground floor of the farmhouse, we host two guest rooms separated by a small shared space for breakfast, relaxation and time together.
My presence during your stay is constant but discreet.
If needed, I’m always there.
And if you enjoy it, I’m also happy to chat, play a board game, suggest creative activities, help you explore the area, or simply listen to your stories (which I truly enjoy).
The interiors are not those of a standard accommodation.
And not even of a place furnished “at random”.
Many guests are pleasantly surprised when they arrive: photos don’t fully capture the character of the house, which, to my great satisfaction, conveys the sense of warmth and hospitality I aim to offer.
Here, every object has a story. Nothing is there by chance.
The paintings on the walls are by an uncle of mine, now over ninety, a painter of rural and bucolic scenes from Ciociaria and the Caserta area.
The headboard in the “Tra cielo e terra” room comes from my grandmother’s house in Ciociaria and is over 100 years old.
The bar cabinet in the breakfast room used to be an early 1900s cheese cabinet, restored and transformed, now available for you to make a coffee whenever you like.
The Tarot cards come from a collection my mother gave me years ago — the starting point from which the whole room was developed.
And I could go on.
If you like, during your stay you can ask me about the story behind anything. Inside, but also outside — because there too there has been, and still is, a great deal of care.
In general, everything is designed to make you feel comfortable, but not like in a hotel.
More like being at a friend’s home.
You have your own private space, but also shared areas. And with just a few steps into the greenery, you can find silence and solitude. And then there are them: Dylan, Titina and Cocò. Sometimes they’ll want to play, sometimes just watching them is enough to make you smile or truly relax. In any case, they are part of the life of this place.
Regarding the location, it’s important to be clear.
We are in the countryside, reached by a paved road that is narrower than main roads and not lit at night. This is exactly what allows us to maintain quiet and distance from traffic.
The historic center of Caiazzo is about 3 km away. On the map it may seem close, but the road is hilly and can be challenging, especially with luggage. For this reason, we always recommend arriving by car. Not only to reach us, but also to explore the area. There are many places to see around here, but they are not within immediate reach. A certain level of independence is needed.
As for driving, both small cars and larger vehicles can reach us without issues — the important thing is to drive carefully and with common sense, keeping in mind that this is a rural setting (which you have chosen for that very reason).
If you have any doubts, feel free to call me. If you’d like a more sedentary and relaxing stay, there are miles and miles of roads, trails, and destinations within walking distance during the day, and we’ll be happy to offer assistance for occasional short trips to and from the station or the historic center.
Traveling vs. residential stay
If you have a car or a motorcycle, as mentioned earlier, you’ll have complete freedom to explore the area thoroughly. Whether locally or for longer trips (Naples, Pompeii, the Matese Mountains, the Benevento area, etc.). Given the attractions in the area, coming by car remains our recommendation, even if you choose just a few but interesting excursions.
However, if your preference is for a stationary, relaxing stay without a car, get around on foot, and rely on public transportation only when necessary, you’ll find acres of countryside to stroll through, along with trails and narrow lanes for walking. You can reach the historic center of Caiazzo on foot, use buses or trains for longer trips, and we’ll be happy to assist with occasional short trips to and from the historic center, the station, or other nearby locations.
For stays longer than 2–3 days, we recommend booking the Tarot Room, which is equipped with a kitchenette, and we’ll be happy to provide you with a lovely basket of local products for a full immersion in our country life.
This place is ideal if you are look ing to take time to simply “be”.
Even if you arrive with a full itinerary, you will likely discover that everything here moves at a different pace.
And often, it is in that slower time that the most meaningful memories are created.
It’s not about doing many things, but about choosing the right ones.
As for our hospitality, we host a maximum of five guests, as you can see in the rooms section of this website.
An ideal setting for couples or small groups of friends.
During your stay, you will easily encounter our animals in the courtyard: dogs, cats and free-range chickens.
I always keep an eye on things to make sure they do not disturb.
Animals are not allowed inside the rooms, and we cannot accept external pets. There is a balance here that we aim to preserve.
Le Piracante is not a place designed for children.
There are no dedicated spaces, and the environment requires attention: children cannot be left unattended. That said, in some cases we do host families, after discussing and aligning expectations in advance.
When this happens, it usually works well.
What can you do here during your stay?
It depends. Many things — or nothing at all.
It depends on why you are coming, how much time you have, and what you are looking for. You can read, walk, work, create. Or simply do nothing. Some guests arrive with full plans, others come just to “be”. But perhaps the real question is not “what to do”, but “how to be”.
And when you enter that rhythm, whatever you choose becomes an experience.
I invite you to explore the rest of the website to discover more about our hospitality and the surrounding context.
I remain available for any questions, and perhaps — if you have read this far — Le Piracante might be the right place for you, to take some quality time in a rural setting that is a little different from the usual.
