About Us

Title: From a “Wild” Dream to a Living Reality

We left a comfortable city home to move to the hills of Caiazzo, into the countryside, in the heart of the Middle Volturno Valley.

I am Rossella, and together with my husband Maurizio, we chose to change our lives, moving from Caserta to this place that captivated us with its authentic beauty and its human, agricultural, and scenic potential. We didn’t know how much work it would take to build all of this, but we would do it all over again. Today, we live in the countryside with our three dogs and three cats, tending to the house, the land, and a small but great project: Le Piracante – Rural Hub.

A “rural hub” is, for us, a physical and conceptual space that combines hospitality, creativity, experiences, and relationships with a single goal: to live better, valuing the territory and generating sincere connections.

My Story

Before moving here, I worked for years in the field of Human Resources Development, designing and implementing career guidance, training, career counseling, and support for personal and organizational development. After graduating in Rome, I collaborated with public and private institutions across various areas of Campania, passionately pursuing a professional approach based on quality and listening.

I loved my job, but I often encountered obstacles linked to a system that did not sufficiently value competence, content, or results, favoring more political or relational logics. This environment limited my ability to fully express myself.

The move to country life was not an escape, but a conscious choice. A transformation that allowed me to apply my skills in other ways, creating a space where I could design with greater freedom and vision. And so, Le Piracante was born.

The Present: A Living and Evolving Project

Today I live here, together with Maurizio who often works remotely, immersed in the beauty of the seasons and the slow rhythms of rural life. We grow a part of our food, tend to an olive grove, and welcome guests from all over the world in our small B&B.

Our dream became a reality thanks to a lot of hard work, but it remains a dynamic project that evolves over time: Le Piracante is a place of hospitality and relaxation, but also a space for experimentation, where workshops, creative inspiration journeys, experiential activities, and connections with the local community take shape.

We dream that Le Piracante will be, for those who arrive, a refuge and a source of inspiration. A place to slow down, find balance, enjoy nature, and feel as welcome as at home.

The Project & Our Vision

Title: Le Piracante – An Evolving Rural Hub

Le Piracante is more than just a B&B; it is a rural ecosystem designed to bridge nature, creativity, and human connection. On the hills of Caiazzo, we have created a space that integrates four core dimensions:

  • Authentic Hospitality: Welcoming travelers seeking stillness, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.

  • Small-scale Farming: Rediscovering the rhythm of nature and the value of manual labor in our olive grove.

  • RuralArtLab: Our creative heart, where art, upcycling, and experimental workshops come to life.

  • A Relational Space: A hub for exchanging ideas, fostering well-being, and building a community of shared values.

Why Upper Campania?

We believe that the rural territory of the Middle Volturno is a living laboratory. Here, amidst ancient villages and biodiversity, it is still possible to live sustainably, protecting the intangible heritage and the agri-food traditions of the land.

Our Vision

We want to offer a slow and conscious hospitality, contributing to making our territory a hub of attraction for those seeking beauty and meaning. We work to create connections between citizens, operators, and institutions, dreaming of a participatory and lasting territorial development.

Where we are

From a “reckless” dream to a living reality

We arrived in Caiazzo in 2016, driven by a necessary desire to change our lives. The property we chose was an old abandoned farmhouse: crumbling walls, concrete instead of grass, and wire fences everywhere. And yet, something made us stay.

The courage to start over

We didn’t know what we were getting into. I couldn’t even keep a basil plant alive; Maurizio barely knew how to change a lightbulb. We cleared the spaces, demolished, and rebuilt, experiencing moments of extreme exhaustion alternated with pure happiness. In 2018, we finally “conquered” the view: the landscape was open once again, framed by the Pyracantha plants that today give our home its name.

Since the first summer spent here we have never stopped spending time enjoying what we had achieved with so much effort and thinking about the path still to be taken. During the day the view over the fields, at night the lights of the stars. We live following a rhythm that always takes into account the seasons, the weather and the daily hours of light.

We have tasks typical of modern life but we always keep in mind when it is time to prune the vineyard, harvest the olives or cut the grass. Feeding plants, stacking wood and all the other work needed to manage a house in the country.

2020 – 2023: The Rebirth

2020 was our turning point: we officially opened the B&B. But we didn’t stop at hospitality. We transformed Le Piracante into a project of true sustainability:

  • Clean Energy: Farewell to fossil fuels. Today, we are powered by photovoltaic systems, solar thermal energy, and biomass.

  • Biodiversity: We have planted over 350 new trees (oaks, lindens, ashes, and ancient fruit varieties) to restore dignity to the land.

  • Multifunctional Space: During the lockdown, we transformed the old stable into a laboratory for coworking and creativity.

Today

Le Piracante is not a “perfect” project, but the result of choices made with love and persistence. It is a real home, a work in progress. We look forward to welcoming you to the Caiatine Hills to share this slow and rooted beauty.
